This trio of photos, taken at Detroit’s Belle Isle, show a canoe equipped with a number of accessories. The decks, both long but the bow longer than the stern, suggest the canoe was one of many built by B. N. Morris for C. J. Molitor, who ran a canoe livery on Belle Isle. There is a Victrola on the bow seat, a pair of back rests, numerous pillows , and a rope bumper. Of course, no outing would be complete without a picnic lunch, accompanied by the young girl’s doll.
