Ontario Canoe Company
The Ontario Canoe Company was founded in 1883 by Colonel James Z. Rogers in Peterborough, Ontario. The company’s offerings were based on the cedar strip and cedar rib style canoes invented and patented by John Stephenson.
This is the U.S. version of John S. Stephenson's patent for his cedar-rib canoe.
This is the U.S. version of John S. Stephenson's patent for his "longitudinal strip canoe," which is also commonly referred to as a cedar strip canoe.
